Ariana Grande Concert Explosion Killed 22

Scenes of carnage in the Manchester Arena foyer after the suicide bomb attack. (The Sun)

At least 22 people including children were killed in an explosion at the Ariana Grande pop concert which was held at the Manchester Arena last night.

The horrific blast sent thousands of adults, teenagers and children screamed and fled in panic from the packed Europe’s largest indoor arena as people were leaving the arena after the concert ended.

The Sun reported that, “Witnesses told of seeing shards of metal tearing into concert-goers in the foyer area of the world-famous concert venue – leaving dozens lying in pools of blood.”

According to The Telegraph, at least 59 others were injured and many others are still missing and desperate parents have spent the night searching for loved ones, some as young as eight years old, who have been missing since the explosion.

The Telegraph also reported that police believe that the attack was carried out by one man who died at the scene, although they are still working to establish if he “was acting alone or as part of a network”.

The suicide bomber was reported to detonate an explosive device in the foyer outside the main hall of the arena.

Sixty ambulances flooded the area and more than 400 police officers were deployed.

The first victim to be named after an explosion is Georgina Callander, 18.

Prime Minister Theresa May suspended all election campaigning due to the incident.

My deepest condolences to all the family and friends of the victims.

Flag Of Muar Flown Upside-Down At Sime Darby Property’s Bandar Universiti Pagoh

District of Muar flag flown upside-down at the Sime Darby Property’s Bandar Universiti Pagoh Sales Gallery.

Last Wednesday, May 17, 2016, on our way home from Mersing, we drove to the Sime Darby Property’s Bandar Universiti Pagoh Sales Gallery to have lunch at Kafe Haji Masjuki which serves delicious Mee Bandung Udang Galah.

Entering the area, I noticed something’s terribly wrong about the flags flown at the entrance of the sales gallery’s complex – the district flag of Muar was flown upside down, with its upper left canton at the bottom and the lower right canton at the top!

Flags, especially district’s, state’s and country’s flags must always be respected and must be flown in the right way.

Flying the district of Muar’s flag upside down is a sign of disrespect not only to the district of Muar, but also to the religion of Islam, the Sultan of Johor and the state of Johor, as I what explained in my previous article on the flag of Johor being flown upside down at Desaru Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort.

In the flag of Johor, the white crescent and white star denote Islam and Johor’s sovereign ruler, respectively.

Hence, by flying the fag upside down, the position of the white crescent and star is placed at the lower part of the flag, which is debasing the position of the Sultan of Johor and Islam to a position even lower than the people which were represented by the black fields.

And the worst and the saddest part is, the flag was still flown upside down when I went to the site again on May 21, 2017!

My question are:

  1. How could such a respected company like Sime Darby do not bother to make sure that its staff understand how to fly the flags in the proper manner and follow the flag protocols?
  2. The flag was flown upside down for at least 5 days, do people do not bother about their flags anymore?

This is a very serious matter, I’m urging the authorities to be more serious about flag protocols and Sime Darby must issue an apology to the Sultan of Johor, and the government of Johor.

Explosion in Rome Sparked Panic

An explosion that had damaged a car in a nearby car park had sparked panic among workers at the Poste Italiane office in the Aventino neighbourhood today.

So far, no injuries were reported.

The Independent reported that police believe the explosion was an “act of protest” but the target was unclear.

It is also reported that the homemade devices used flammable liquid and were placed between cars in a car park in Via Marmorata, which links the River Tiber with the Pyramid of Caius Cestius in central Rome.

Daily Express reported that, “A secondary bomb alert had been issued for the Piazza di
Porta Capena – just streets away from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Headquarters –
police and bomb disposal experts were deployed but have since been stood down and
the incident deemed a false alarm”.

Peter Chong Had Wasted Police’s Time and Energy

Malaysian IGP, Khalid Abu Bakar released a statement stating that the ‘disappearance’ of Peter Chong wasted a lot of the police’s time and energy.

In a press confrence at Bukit Aman earlier today, he said that Chong had put the public in a state of fear, and had wasted the police’s time.

I’m sure the opposition supporters will cause a deafening uproar if Peter Chong is not one of them.

Further news can be read in the report made by Free Malaysia Today:

.::Report by Free Malaysia Today::.

KUALA LUMPUR: Activist Peter Chong, who was thought to have been abducted, wasted the police’s time and energy, said Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar.

He said Chong’s two-week disappearance had put the public in a state of fear, as they believed that abduction cases were on the rise.

“He (Chong) got the public shocked. So we want to find out why he did that.

“Of course he has wasted our men’s time,” he told a press conference at Bukit Aman here today.

Chong was reported missing on April 5, but police later discovered that he had gone to Thailand.

The activist later told police that he went to Hatyai on April 7 to meet a source who claimed to have information on the whereabouts of Pastor Raymond Koh, who was abducted on Feb 13.

Chong alleged that he was then abducted and taken to Pattaya before being released.

Hatyai police however said they had not received any report regarding the abduction, and that they would take action against Chong if he was found to have fabricated the incident.

Pattaya police echoed the warning, adding that they too had no knowledge of the alleged abduction as no report had been lodged.

Khalid had said Malaysian police were working with their Thai counterparts to investigate Chong’s abduction claim.

“We are checking with Pattaya police. We will wait for their response before taking further action.

“We can’t make any assumptions. Whether there was a police report or not, we will wait for feedback from there (Thailand),” he said.

‘Missing’ Peter Chong is Back From Pattaya

Breaking news!

One out of the five ‘missing’ people, Peter Chong has been ‘found’!

Well, the police found out that he is not even lost after all, but went on a trip to Thailand without telling anyone.

That made some people went hysterical about his ‘disappearance’ and made all kinds of theories including conspiracy theories.

Some accused that he was abducted and openly blamed the Malaysian Police and the government for his disappearance, only to find out that he was on a trip.

So, they all went crazy over nothing, putting the blame on the innocents, pointing fingers to who ever they wish and condemning the authorities; and did all that for nothing!

That is the mentality of some people from the opposition parties, who are fast to blame others especially the government and the authority for everything without investigations.

So, since it is proven that they had wrongly accused others and the authorities, are they going to issue an apology?

.::Report by Free Malaysia Today::.

PETALING JAYA: The former aide to a PKR MP, who was said to have gone missing since April 5, has been found and has returned to Kuala Lumpur, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar announced today.

“Missing Peter Chong is back from Pattaya this afternoon,” Khalid said on his Twitter account, while congratulating the police force.

Police took a statement from Chong at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport before he joined his family members about 2pm.

When contacted, Kuala Lumpur police chief Amar Singh Ishar Singh, said Chong told police he had gone to Hatyai with the intention of meeting his source who was to reveal more information on the disappearance of Pastor Koh Keng Joo.

Upon reaching Hatyai, he claims he was abducted and brought to Pattaya.

Upon release, he said he contacted his son who bought his return ticket home.

On Wednesday, Khalid had said police had information that Chong had crossed the border into Thailand at the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint.

Chong, a former aide to PKR MP Sivarasa Rasiah, was said to have disappeared days after he related on Facebook about his conversation with a stranger, who warned him to be more careful in the wake of several cases of missing activists.

Chong’s son, Darryl, had lodged a police report on April 8 after attempts to contact his father failed. A task force was subsequently formed to look into Chong’s disappearance.

Chong’s disappearance came after the widely reported abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh, as well as the cases of Pastor Joshua Hilmy, his wife Ruth Hilmy and Perlis-based social acitivist Amri Che Mat.

FMT: Laws Against Quran And Sunnah Are Void, Said Tun Fairuz

I am very proud to read what was said by Tun Ahmad Fairuz in Free Malaysia Today’s report, “Ex-CJ: Laws that are against Quran and Sunnah are void”.

FMT wrote, “Explaining his interpretation, Ahmad Fairuz who was the chief justice from 2003 to 2007, cited a Privy Council judgement on a case in Singapore, where it said for a law to be valid, it must conform to the fundamental rules laid down by English Common Law.”

“This view seems to be accepted in Malaysia too. But as Islam is the religion of the federation, surely the fundamental principles of the law should be based not only on English Common Law, but (also) on the shariah law.

“I want to stress the aspect of judiciary in the definition of Islam where the Quran and Sunnah are the main sources of Islamic laws.

“Article 4 of the Federal Constitution states that laws which are against the Federal Constitution are void, on the part of the contradicting provisions. And hence, laws that are against the Quran and Sunnah will also be void.”

Explaining about the interpretation of Article 3(1) Tun Fairuz was reported saying:

“In the case of Lina Joy, when I was the chief justice, I said Islam was also a complete way of life that included all aspects of human activities, including judiciary, politics, and economy among others.”

FMT further wrote, “Hence, Ahmad Fairuz, reading Article 3 and 4 together, interpreted the Federal Constitution as making Islamic law the second most supreme legislation.”

Therefore for those who are constitutionally illiterate and shouting that Malaysia is a secular country and the proposed amendment of Act 355 is unconstitutional, please attend Tun Fairuz’s next lecture to learn more about the Federal Constitution from our former Chief Justice.
