Reuters reported that about 15,000 homes and businesses in Oklahoma and Arkansas were without power on Thursday after tornadoes touched down in the states a day earlier, leaving at least one person dead and scores of structures damaged.

Video: Another Tornado Hit Kedah (Nov. 12, 2014)

Kedah was hit by another tornado today.

It was reported that this tornado was the fourth tornado that hit Kedah after the Pendang incident.

NST reported that a severe thunderstorm and strong wind wreaked havoc in Pandamaran, damaging some 30 houses and apartment blocks.

A twister-like winds blew off roofs and uprooting trees around the area.

The thunderstorm also caused several boats at a jetty near Kunci Air Jalan Banting, Pandamaran to sink.

Several areas including Meru and Kampung Delek were flooded.

Photos, Videos: Waterspout In Bintulu And Miri (Oct. 18, 2014)

A waterspout was seen in Bintulu, Sarawak along the Kidurong coast at about 10am on Saturday. 

Wikipedia wrote that waterspouts are non-supercell tornado over water; they are small and weak rotating columns of air over water and they do not suck up water.

The Star reported that an employee at Petronas’s Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas LNG plant told The Star that the waterspout came close to the factory.

BERNAMA reported that the waterspout was also seen in Niah area of Miri.

There were also no reports of injuries or property damage in the incident.

Photos and Videos: Tornado Hits Pendang, Kedah (Puting Beliung Melanda Pendang)

Berita Harian reported that least 15 houses in Pendang and Taman Sri Kota in Kuala Kedah were damaged by a tornado at about 4 p. m. today, during a heavy rain.

Among the affected areas are Kampung Alor Besar in Pendang and Taman Sri Kota in Kuala Kedah.

A report from NST says that:

“A source at the Meteorology Department confirmed that it was a landspout which can occur in instances of strong winds. A landspout is similar to a waterspout. The only difference is that it occurs over land” – NST

Landspout  a kind of tornado not associated with the mesocyclone of a thunderstorm.

Nobody was reportedly injured during the incident.

Eastern States Tornado and Thunderstorms Killed 5 – Photos

Severe thunderstorms swept through several Eastern states.

At least five people were killed; four of them were killed after a tornado destroyed homes in upstate New York.

The disaster also destroyed and damaged a lot of houses and caused a power cut off to nearly 200,000 people.

Reuters reported that, the city of Washington, Illinois, was hard-hit by what the National Weather Service called a “large and extremely dangerous” tornado, with photos showing buildings reduced to rubble and homes torn in half in the city of 15,000 people some 145 miles southwest of Chicago. 

U.S. weather officials said that a fast-moving storm system spawned multiple tornadoes in Illinois and Indiana, threatening some 53 million people across 10 Midwestern states on Sunday

Photos: 5 Dead In May 31 Oklahoma City Area Tornado

Moore had limited damage from this storm activity.

Five people were killed and more than forty people were being treated for storm-related injuries.

At least three major tornadoes had touched down and according to a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, Tim Oram, it was difficult to know exactly how many tornadoes had touched down.

The disaster caused havoc on Interstate 40 and people were trapped  in their vehicles.

Part of the streets were flooded to a depth of 4 feet.

According to Betsy Randolph, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Highway Petrol, a mother and baby were killed on Friday while traveling on Interstate 40, just west of Oklahoma City, when their vehicle was picked up by the storm and they were sucked out of it.

Amy Elliott, a spokeswoman for the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said that two of the five deaths in Oklahoma on Friday occurred in Union City and one was in El Reno, in rural areas west of Oklahoma City.

Television images showed downed power lines and tossed cars as the storm systems dumped at least 3 inches of rain, stranding motorists in flood water.

According to the National Weather Service, the twister churned a path 1.3 miles wide and 17 miles long.
