Currently, the LEGO Batman event is running at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.

The picture above was taken on the 13th of February during the promotion, several days before the event began.

Some of the LEGO sets are limited in the market, these sets are known as ‘Hard To Find’ items.

LEGO listed 20 of these exclusive sets as their ‘Hard To Find’ items; and at Legoland, a person is allowed only to buy one of these sets at a time.

Interestingly, lots of LEGO Creators are in the list.

Lego’s New Sets 2014 – 2015; They Are Awesome

Mini Cooper Mk. VII (Model #10242). It’s a mini Mini. Decked out in British Racing Green and packed with details — even down to a picnic basket and blanket in the trunk — this gorgeous model is a must for the auto enthusiast.

These are some photos of the new Lego sets for 2014 and early 2015.

I think that the Mini Cooper Mk. VII is really cool and I wish that I can own it 🙂

Lego had just unveiled some of these sets at the San Diego Comic Con.

 

City Police Station (Model #60047). City is one of Lego’s best-loved themes, and this new police station has everything you need for cops-and-robbers play. Police vehicles, a helicopter, cells, escape tunnels, cops, criminals: it’s all here, even down to the handcuffs.

High-Speed Passenger Train (Model #60051). Trains have been a mainstay Lego product for years, but this year’s is the most advanced yet. The sleek, high-tech lines hide a sleek, high-tech interior, boasting an eight-channel infra-red remote controller — and it comes with enough track to build a good-sized loop.

Sandcrawler (Model #75059). Lego fans have been clamoring for a Sandcrawler kit for years. Lego has finally delivered. This hulking model is packed with working features and openable panels, and has a beautifully detailed interior.

Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (Model #70816). Who could have predicted the Lego movie would be so good? A slew of sets based on the hit flick descended on stores this year, and this spaceship (spaceship, SPACESHIP!) is one of the best. A great set in its own right, it’ll appeal to older Lego fans with its 1980s style.

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (Model #21108). So Ghostbusters has finally gotten old enough to acquire some retro-chic, eh? This model was designed by fans, not professional Lego designers, but it’s every bit as good as the stuff the pros come up with.

AT-AT (Model #75054). It’s not the largest AT-AT model Lego has ever produced, but it’s probably the strongest. If you’re the type who likes to play with your models as well as build them, this is your kit.

The Hobbit: The Lonely Mountain (Model #79018). Coming out this October 15 at a retail price of $130, this Tolkien-tastic set features the dwarven homeland from the second Hobbit film, as well as minifigures of Bilbo and four dwarf pals. Oh yeah, there’s a dragon too.

Star Wars Wookie Gunship (Model #75084). Based on the Star Wars: Rebels animated series, the Wookiee Gunship contains 570 parts and will retail for $69.99, starting in January 2015.

For the last 17 years, Lego hunters can find Lego pieces at beaches in Cornwall, England.

On February 13, 1997, a shipping container filled with nearly 5 million Lego pieces was thrown into the sea about 32 kilometres off the British south coast after the Tokio Express ship carrying them was struck by a huge wave.

A Great Birthday Surprise

On Wednesday, a day before my birthday, my big sisters and my father planned a birthday surprise for me, but I did not suspect anything since it was not yet my birthday.

My mother told us to get ready because we were going out but she did not tell us where we were going. I did not suspect anything and I thought that we were going out for grocery shopping.

My father drove us to the Wangsa Walk Mall which made me wonder why for it is a place that we rarely go to. We entered the mall and followed my father walking here and there and I kept on asking my mother why were we at the mall. Then after we took the elevator to the upper floor, my dad walked toward the TGV Cinemas.

I was so excited and asked my mother if my father was going to take us to a movie but my mother pretended that she has no idea about it. My father walked up the small steps towards the cinema halls while my big sister Kaman and my mother bought some big cups of popcorn and some drinks.

At that moment I knew that we were going to watch a movie but nobody wanted to tell me what movie we were going to watch. After taking the 3D glasses, we walked to one of the cinema halls, took our seats and then the lights turned off.

And at last, after lots of advertisements the movie started. It was the new Lego Movie which I wanted to watch since the first time I watched its trailer last year. I was so excited!

The Lego Movie is about a Lego construction worker named Emmet. One day, he saw a stranger around the construction site. Emmet tried to investigate but fell into a hole. After falling through a long tunnel, he saw a relic and heard a voice from it, calling for him. It told Emmet to touch it and after touching it, he somehow fell unconscious and had some visions.

When he woke up, he was already in a police station and then a multi personality police officer asked him lots of questions. Then the person who he saw at the construction site saved him and told him that he is the special one and a master builder. He also discovered that the relic was to save the world.

So the rest of the movie is about Emmet’s great adventure trying to save the world with his friends, Wyldstyle, Vitruvius, Batman, Ben and Unikitty.

It was really fun, the movie was great, the popcorn was tasty and after the movie was over my big sisters told me that it was a birthday surprise for me! And we had the whole cinema hall for ourselves for there was nobody else but our family watching the movie in the hall.

The Lego Movie Review

The Lego Movie was released in Malaysia on February 6, 2014.

On February 12, 2014, I watched the movie at TGV Cinemas, Wangsa Walk Mall.

It was really fun to watch the movie. There are lots and lots of funny scenes that we almost never stopped laughing throughout the whole movie. And the movie was far better than what I expected from watching the movie trailer on the internet. The best thing about watching The Lego Movie was that the movie was so entertaining that there was no boring moment at all.

Almost the whole scene was created using Lego bricks, the splashing water, fire and almost everything and they looked like real Lego. I find it very impressive to see how they created the movie using Lego character as the casts and how the animation was so real that they look just like the real Lego. They do not forget simple details like Lego figure’s hair that can be taken out from the figure’s head. So it becomes so real, like the way we play our Lego sets.

The animation is awesome and very beautiful especially with the 3D effect.

There is only one song in the movie, ‘Everything Is Awesome’, and the song is a very catchy song that we sang it all the way home after the movie.

The moral of the movie is to be creative and not only depending on manuals or instructions to do or build something. When we build things using Lego bricks, we can also build other things from the sets that we have and not only build the things that are shown in the instructions given.

But of course, I think that while it is fun to build something out of our own creativity, we must also learn to build things by following the instructions given. As in life, while being creative is good, there are times when we have to strictly follow the rules and instructions. There is no total freedom in life because if everybody is free to do anything they like, the world will be in a real mess.

Congratulations to Lego for creating such a very wonderful movie that could entertain both children and adults, either watching it alone or together with family and friends.

Nathan Sawaya is a New York based artist who creates awesome works of art out LEGO® bricks.

His recent global museum exhibitions titled, The Art of the Brick® feature large-scale sculptures using only LEGO® bricks toy building blocks. 

His work is currently on exhibit at the Discovery Times Square Museum.

World’s Largest Lego Sculpture: A Life-Size X-Wing Fighter (Photos)

Thousands of people gathered in New York City’s Times Square on May 22 to watch the unveiling of the world’s largest LEGO model, a 1:1 replica of the LEGO Star Wars X-wing Starfighter.

It took 32 model builders, 5.3 million LEGO bricks and over 17,000 hours to complete the life-size X-wing fighter.

The X-wing fighter stands at 11 feet tall, with a wingspan of 43 feet and weighing nearly 46,000 pounds.

The engines have lights and speakers, and so they light up and cycle through a pre-programmed series of launch and battle sounds.

LEGO even has the droid, the cute R2-D2 built for the project.

The X-wing is strong enough for a person to sit in the cockpit or perch atop one of the engines and the designers use computer to plan an intricate steel infrastructure that will ensure the X-wing won’t shatter in an earthquake.

After its time in New York City, the X-wing will travel to Legoland in California.

The life-size X-wing fighter is really awesome and I think LEGO made X-wing to promote this coming Star Wars movie.
