The Best Sate Kambing!

Looking for a very delicious sate kambing or lamb satay?

A few days ago, on our way home from Tangkak in Johor, we purposely drove to Pedas, a small town in the district of Rembau in Negeri Sembilan to buy tasty sate kambing from a small road-side stall owned by Encik Sudirman and his wife Azizah.

Their sate kambing is the best sate kambing that we had ever tasted, well marinated, tender and juicy; and for us they are tastier than the sate kambing offered at the popular Restoran Sate Wak Radol in Taman Sri Skudai, near Johor Bharu.

Other than their scrumptious sate kambing, the friendly couple also offer tasty chicken and beef satay, all at a very decent price.

We came across the satay stall last year, as we drove to Pedas looking for a place for dinner while we were at the Nation Buidling Camp in Ulu Sepri and this is the third time we had the chance to enjoy their delicious satay.

Located near the Pedas Police Station, it opens at around 6:30PM or on wards, so if  you happens to be in the town of Pedas, please give it a try.

But if you are planning to purposely drive to Pedas for the satay like we did this time, please contact the stall owner in advance to make sure that they are open for business.

The coordinates for the stall is 2.620221, 102.058153.

The Iconic ‘Mee Racun’ of Batu Pahat

The district of Batu Pahat, Johor is known for the iconic Mee Racun 3G restaurant, which is located in Kampung Kenangan Dato Onn, in front of the Pinetree Hotel.

Featured in the Johor state newspaper, Jauhar, it serves delicious dishes with the ‘racun’ (poison) themed name, such as Kuew Tiaw Racun, Nasi Goreng Racun, and of course, the iconic Mee Racun.

Despite its frightening name, each dish is actually not poisonous at all; but the gravy is red and looks ‘poisonous’, thus leading it to the peculiar name, as what had been explained to me by a lady at the restaurant.

I’ve already eaten at the restaurant three times, the food was constantly tasty and the people who work there are also very kind and friendly.

My personal favourite is the ‘Kuew Tiaw Racun’, a spicy and delicious dish that I really enjoy, where every mouthful was a treat in itself with its unique and distinctive flavour ‘explodes’ in my mouth in each spoonful.

One of my favourite parts of eating the dishes here is to sip in the bone marrow using a straw.

So if you ever go to Batu Pahat, you won’t want to miss the chance to eat these marvellous dishes.

Terbaik! Ikan Baung Tempoyak @ Restoran Nasir Corner, Segamat

Restoran Nasir Corner, Segamat, Johor.

Wondering where to have lunch while in Segamat?

As Segamat is known for its fresh water fishes and prawns, ‘ikan baung’ is the ‘must-try’.

During our visit to Segamat early this week, my parents and I had lunch at the popular Restoran Nasir Corner in Taman Utama Segamat, Johor.

The restaurant which is popular for its fresh ‘ikan baung’ and huge fresh water prawn or ‘udang galah’ dishes also offers lots of other very Malay dishes, including the very tasty kerabu and a huge selections of vegetable dishes which are very, very tasty.

Despite feeling rather full, I ate more than I usually do, as the food served are just really delicious especially the tasty ‘ikan baung’ and the kerabu.

For me ‘ikan baung’ is tastier than ‘ikan patin’.

The owner of the restaurant is a very friendly man, he stopped at our table a few times, asking us if we enjoy the food.

Below are some photos of the restaurant.

Bubur Lambuk Paling Sedap Di KL

In the Malaysia, bubur lambuk is a special dish that is not to be missed in the holy month of Ramadhan.

People enjoy this delicious dish for iftar, and it is only sold during the month of Ramadhan.

In Kuala Lumpur, the most popular bubur lambuk comes from Kampung Baru and the best comes from Aunty Sham’s stall, Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kak Sham which is located across the street from the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

We never fail to buy Aunty Sham’s delicious bubur lambuk at least a few times each Ramadhan.

Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk is so popular that some people even cheated the customers by claiming that their bubuk lambuk is the Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kak Sham

Today we got to enjoy the tasty bubur lambuk for the first time this Ramadhan.

Usually we will be having our bubur lambuk on the first few days of Ramadhan, but this year my father had been very busy that it was postponed until today.

It is delicious as always and eating Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk is very nostalgic because it is what I have been waiting for every Ramadhan ever since I can remember.

If you happen to be in Kampung Baru and looking for the best bubur lambuk, please look for the banner for the authentic and most delicious bubur lambuk!

Lunch At Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah

Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah restaurant.

During one from our trips back from Pangkor, we stopped at a restaurant named Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah for lunch.

The restaurant is situated near the Plaza Tol Sungkai or Sungkai Toll Plaza in Perak.

Similar to the ‘Restoran Kari Kambing 40 Hari’ in Johor, this is also a self-service restaurant; but unlike ‘Restoran Kari Kambing 40 Hari’, this restaurant serves a huge variety of dishes and the service is good.

I love the tasty Nasi Bamboo which is rice wrapped in a type of Malaysian jungle leaf called ‘daun lirik’ or kalatia and steamed in bamboo.

The Nasi Bamboo set came with serunding which is a spicy meat floss dish, curry, slices of cucumber and sambal belacan.

We also tried the barbequed venison and ‘Ayam Kampung Bunian’ which were very tasty and the venison and kampung chicken were sweet and juicy.

The laksa was also delicious and so was the Air Batu Campur or better known as ABC and other food that we ordered.

I truly enjoyed the tasty foods at the ‘Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah’ and I would love to eat the restaurant again.

Brunch At Kari Kambing 40 Hari

The famous ‘Restoran Kari Kambing 40 Hari’.

We came across a popular restaurant named ‘Restoran Kari Kambing 40 Hari’ on our many trips to Johor but only on 5th of August 2016, I had the chance to eat at the restaurant.

The restaurant is situated along Jalan Yong Peng – Ayer Hitam and from what I saw whenever I passed the place, the restaurant was always full; so we assume  the food must be very delicious.

It is a self-service type of restaurant, where plates of foods are placed on a counter for us to choose, except for the roti canai that has to be ordered.

When we arrived the restaurant there was already a long queue, and to the matter worse, the lady at the food counter was rather rude to the customers.

And as for the food, the roti canai was very, very delicious but the kari kambing which was too sweet, was not as good as what we were hoping for.

Anyway, we did not try the Nasi Arab.

Is it worth for us to drive away from the highway just to eat at the restaurant?

Well, at least from now on, we are satisfied that we have tried the kari kambing at the ‘Restoran Kari Kambing 40 Hari’ whenever we the pass the restaurant as we drive along the PLUS highway.

In a long queue at the restaurant for our brunch before continuing our journey to Tanjung Piai.

Things To Buy In Sabah – Ikan Kering Sabah

Ever wonder what to buy when you visit new places?

Sabah is known for its fresh and delicious seafood, so buying seafood either fresh or dried is always a good idea.

Dried seafood, are cheap in Sabah, and here are some of them.

Apart from dried seafood, one can buy fresh seafood at the wet markets in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and other towns to be taken back to the peninsular.

The fish seller can pack them nicely in polystyrene boxes ready to be taken on the flight back to Kuala Lumpur.

Attention! Beware Of Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Copycat

I had Aunty Sham’s tasty bubur lambuk again on Wednesday and was told that there are people selling bubur lambuk in Kampung Baru who claimed that they are selling Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk.
So, be sure that you are buying the real ‘Bubur Lambuk Kak Sham’ for the best bubur lambuk in Kampung Baru.
Aunty Sham has only one stall which is located here.

Ice Cold, Colourful Drinks at The Bazaar Ramadhan

One of the stalls that sells bright coloured cold drinks at the Bazzaar Ramadhan, on the right is the Blue Lemon.

One of the stalls that sells bright coloured cold drinks at the Bazzaar Ramadhan, on the right is the Blue Lemon.

These are some photos of the many types of drinks sold at the Bazaar Ramadhan near my house.

Most of them are in vibrant colours; I am sure that the sellers use lots and lots of colourings to make the drinks more appealing.

Even my eldest sister was and is still tempted to buy them all 🙂

We almost never buy those drinks before but that day my dad decided to surprise my big sister by buying her some of the bright coloured drinks.

So we bought four types of drinks, lemon, honey dew, sugar cane and dragon fruit juice that look much better than they taste.

The tastiest was the creepy looking Blue Lemon drink.

Despite it’s tastiness, it has too much blue colouring that made my mouth blue for a few days.

The honey dew drink was in bright green that it looked rather scary; and the worst part was that it did not even taste like honey dew.

My big sister turned the left over honey dew drink into ice lollies which she really enjoyed.

Tasty Kuihs At Bazaar Ramadhan

Mouth watering vadai(r) and two types of samosas(l).

Today I’m going to share some photos of tasty kuih that I saw at a Bazaar Ramadhan near my house.

There’s so much food everywhere and they all look so good.
