4. iPhone 5 The iPhone 5 has the shortest lifespan of any iPhone so far, as it was in production for just 12 months before it was officially discontinued in 2013 with the introduction of the newer iPhone 5s. The handset showcased a major design overhaul compared to is predecessor – the iPhone 4s – with a much thinner and lighter body, plus a taller screen able to accommodate an extra row of apps. The phone also introduced a more powerful processor, 4G support and the new, compact ‘Lightning’ connector.
