NaPoWriMo Poem #25: An Eagle and Me

An Eagle and Me is a parody based on a famous poem, ‘A Bird came down the Walk’ by Emily Dickinson, 18301886. Please click here for the poem.

A eagle, came down the walk –
And he knew what I saw –
I saw a piece of fish,
And the fellow dropped his jaw,

We raced towards the fish,
On a convenient Grass –
And then hopped sidewise to the tree
To let a Beetle pass –

He looked at me with his rapid eyes,
To find a way to trick me –
He ran into my lane,
I turned left and hit a tree –

I’m in danger, Cautious,
I offered him a Crumb,
And tried to run,
“Ouch”, I hit a bump –
