There was a 30-minute flash flood in Petaling Jaya which hit two southbound sections of the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) on Monday, February 18, 2013.
The flash flood was caused by heavy rains and a back flow from blocked drains feeding into the Klang River.
According to the LDP concessionaire Litrak, the flash floods hit KM21.36 and 23.50 of the southbound-side of the LDP at 5.22pm yesterday.
The flood water was 0.8m high at parts of KM21.36, causing several cars to stall.
The basement floors of IOI Mall Puchong, opposite the affected section, were flooded too.
Dr Choong Bee Li who found her car “floating” said that she was panic during the incident.
This is a disaster and it caused lots of trouble to the people around the area when the matter won’t be that bad if the authorities do their parts to make sure that the drains are not blocked.
