Friedman uses a telescope he calls “Little Big Man.” The stargazer sets up the telescope for high-magnification shooting. A camera replaces the eyepiece of the telescope. Bing Quock, assistant director of the Morrison Planetarium at the California Academy of Sciences, is a fan.
